This Wednesday 4 June is World Environment Day, which aims to bring awareness and action for the protection of the environment. In Genesis 2:15, God tells us to ‘cultivate it and take care of it’, in relation to the earth. Lets not forget the important role God has charged us with, to be stewards of creation.
Heavenly Father,
Creator of all things, we thank You for the gift of this beautiful world. You have entrusted us with the care of Your creation, and we ask for Your guidance and wisdom as we strive to be responsible stewards.
Help us to cherish and protect the environment, to recognise the beauty and interconnectedness of all life. Grant us the courage to make choices that honour and preserve the earth, to reduce our waste, and to live sustainably.
Bless our efforts to combat climate change and pollution. May we be inspired by Your love to care for our common home, ensuring that future generations may also enjoy its wonders.
Teach us to respect all creatures and to live in harmony with nature, as we fulfill our role as caretakers of Your creation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
All the very best to our Year 5 & 6 students who are competing in the Sullivan Shield this Thursday, I know they will represent St Anthony's with pride.
Last week was National Reconciliation Week. The theme for 2024 is Now More Than Ever. A huge thank you to our Year 5 Students and Teachers who presented their thought-provoking and engaging prayer assembly last Friday on Reconciliation.
Family Faith Focus (FFF) program
What a magnificent turn out for our launch of the FFF program on Sunday.
We had over 30 children join Mr McGrath and I at our children's liturgy and it was so wonderful to see our dedicated staff and families join us for Mass.
Family Faith Focus is about attending Mass with us as a community on the first Sunday of each month. Due to the school holidays in July, our next FFF will be on Sunday 4 August at 9.00am. (week 2, term 3). We as a staff will be there to support you and lead our children at Mass in a Children’s Liturgy. This is a wonderful opportunity to re-engage with our Church and develop your faith and commitment to Christ. Father Tom is such a valued leader in our community and has a wonderful, gentle, and comfortable way of drawing us back to our faith in Christ. So come along and join us at Mass on our next FFF on Sunday 4 August. We’ll be there to support you and give you a hand with the kids, we just need you to turn up and be part of something I know each of you will value and enjoy. SAVE THE DATE- Sunday 4 August 9.00am. Mass usually concludes just after 9.30am. If you have time, stay on for a cuppa and a piece of cake with us all afterwards in the foyer of the church.
St Vinnies Winter Warmer Day
Next Friday 14 June students are invited to come to school dressed in their winter warmer clothes or PJ's to assist in raising funds for St Vincent DePaul. Students will also be able to purchase a sausage sandwich on the day. All funds will be raised to support the Vinnies CEO sleepout. I'm helping to break the cycle of homelessness by joining the Vinnies CEO Sleepout for a one-night event held on one of the longest and coldest nights of the year. Children can bring in a gold coin donation next Friday for St Vinnies Winter Warmer day or please donate if you can by clicking the link below. Thank you.
