Book Week - Correction
15 Aug 2024
Dear Families,
Please find attached an updated poster about Bookweek Celebrations at St Anthony’s ELC. We sent out the incorrect date for Books and Brunch – which is actually taking place on Friday the 23rd of August. Apologies for any confusion or inconvenience!!!
We would love you to join us for brunch/morning tea and some story reading time on Friday the 23rd between 11.30 and 12.00. Please bring some morning tea/brunch along. We will have some picnic spaces set up around the ELC and plenty of books on offer, but you are very welcome to bring a picnic rug and a favourite story to read as well. For families unable to make this event – staff will be able to read with students in small groups, we will be joined some senior students from the school and families who come along are always very generous in inviting children to be a part of their story reading. It is a lovely community event with all students included.
Families with siblings at the school are welcome to come to the ELC and sign out their Preschooler to go with them up to the school for this occasion. When the picnic finishes you can sign your child back into the ELC for the rest of the day. As with all events, we are only able to let children leave the ELC premises in the care of those people with permission to collect.
In the event of wet weather we will picnic indoors at the ELC!
Fathers Day Breakfast & Liturgy
14 Aug 2024
We warmly invite all Dads, Grandads & Father Figures to join us for a breakfast in the ELC. Please see the attached invitation.
On Friday, August 30th, we will be joining the school to celebrate all of the amazing men who serve as role models in our community. At 9:15am in the School Hall, Year 1 will host a Father’s Day Liturgy and you are all welcome to join us.
During the Liturgy, we will showcase a photo story to honour all the dads and father figures in our lives. If you would like your family to be included, please email a photo to joseph.mcgrath@cg.catholic.edu.au by Thursday the 22nd of August.

A Bluey Perspective
07 Aug 2024
A free family event with ‘Bluey’ creator Joe Brumm will be held at Merici College on Wednesday 11 September.
Get in quick and register as the spots are limited.
Presented by Catholic School Parents Canberra and Goulburn with the support of Catholic Education, the event aims to bring families from across the Archdiocese together, to listen to Joe talk about why he thinks Bluey has been such a success and the important role parents play in their child’s learning and development.
